Our senior team have combined industry experience of more than 87 years in the fields of product development, individual advice, retirement fund advice, legal, compliance and administration services.
With 7 degrees and 7 diplomas and 4 Certified Financial Planners® between them, our senior team are suitably qualified to provide Optimate clients with well researched advice and support in an ever changing regulatory and market environment.

Lihle Ntshangase CFP®
Employee Benefits Consultant
Lihle completed a BCom (majoring in Finance and Marketing). She is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Her strength lies in her exceptional people skills, relationship building and interaction with large complex funds.
Gareth Taylor
Financial Advisor
Gareth has a BCom Finance (Hons). He previously worked at a large investment bank and in a boutique finance house. He combines corporate experience with an entrepreneurial flair to provide planning solutions for individual clients.

Leon is a registered financial and healthcare planner with 20 years experience. He believes in a customer centric approach and focuses on portfolio planning and wealth management with an ability to analyse and create bespoke solutions for individuals and corporate clients.

In the healthcare industry since 1991, Alison is accredited with the Council for Medical Schemes. She is a proficient intermediary between medical schemes, employers and individual clients, and will analyse and assist clients in making the best choices.

Employee Benefits : Fund Manager
Hayley is an experienced Fund Manager within the Employee Benefits space, with over 15 years’ experience in the industry. Her expertise lies in eliminating unnecessary complexities and focusing on essential elements to ensure efficient workflows within the Employee Benefits Team. Hayley is dedicated to finding solutions, resolving problems and making things work effectively, ensuring successful outcomes for our clients.

Charmaine is a seasoned Employee Benefits specialist, with over 27 years’ experience in the industry. Her accounting background and attention to detail ensure accuracy and smooth running of the various functions that our Employee Benefits Team oversee. Charmaine is passionate about people and possesses a natural ability to interact with others, enabling her to collaborate with service providers and clients alike.

Anita has several years’ administrative experience in both the individual advice and employee benefits space, she has solid administrative skills and knowledge of processes and procedures across various service providers in the industry. Anita is deadline driven and provides strong support within our Employee Benefits Team, enabling them to perform optimally.

Brenda is a Retirement Benefits Counsellor within the Employee Benefits Team. She has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years and has filled various positions within employee benefits. Brenda is passionate about member education and has a teaching background, making her ideally suited for this role.

As Special Projects Manager, Nick is involved in all aspects of the company including marketing and communications, compliance, Employee Benefits consulting, and financial advice. His Certified Financial Planner (CFP), social science background and inquiring mind make him ideal for this role.
